Welfare

SSAFA are the UK’s oldest Armed Forces charity. They provide practical help and assistance to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served, even if it was only for a single day.  We’re here for them and their families wherever they are.

The Royal British Legion has been a voice for the Armed Forces community for 90 years. The Royal British Legion provides welfare to the whole Armed Forces family – serving, ex-Service and their dependants. We also campaign on issues affecting Service people, are the custodian of Remembrance, run the Poppy Appeal and are one of the UK’s largest membership organisations.

We are The Soldiers’ Charity. We’re here to support the men and women who put everything on the line to defend us, and our country. We’re here for them with lifetime support whether they are serving soldiers or veterans. We offer our hand to them as individuals and, when they need help, for their families. We stand by them in conflict and in peacetime, throughout their lives. The immediate help we offer is a lifeline. But we look to the future too, keeping ahead of the game, finding the best ways to give medical, technical and financial support to give the best possible outlook for the men and women who sacrifice so much for us.

The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust. Men and Women in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines serve their country, often at times of national crisis and danger. The RNBT exists to serve them and their families, by providing support at times of need, throughout their lives.

The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund supports the RAF family from children growing up on bases, to those serving in the RAF today, to the veterans of all conflicts past and present.

Veterans in Prison Association provides information, advice and help for veterans in prison and their families.

The Veterans Change Partnership is planning to offer specialised programmes of  rehabilitation, training, support and preventative work for military veteran  offenders. With each partner providing a blend of specialist knowledge, skills  and provision, the programme will enable a reduction in recidivism with access  to employment.

The Gurkha Welfare Trust cares for ex-Gurkhas and their families. We help repay the debt of honour owed the brave Gurkha soldiers, who have fought for our freedom for nearly 200 years.

Veterans Norfolk brings together all Norfolk’s Service Charities and, in conjunction with the County and District Councils, works to look after the welfare and well-being of Norfolk’s Armed Forces and Veterans community.  If you know of someone who needs help, get in touch: we work closely with its member organisations to get a collective view on behalf of our veterans.
